The Story Behind Glizmu℠

Glizmu℠ was born out of a real-world problem at a monthly event.

I wrote the first version of Glizmu℠ two years ago for a monthly event I and my team had put together. With only a cash bar and one bartender, I quickly saw the bottleneck forming. Guests were stuck in line, sales were slowing, and the energy of the event was fading. Pressed for time, by the next event, I had hacked together a solution using a simple shopping cart. Guests placed drink orders from their phones using the shopping cart I set up. The bartender would refreshed the tablet to see new orders, then filled them and passed them to an assistant to deliver. It wasn’t pretty on the backend, but it solved the bottleneck, kept the vibe alive, and boosted sales. I called it My Drink Tab.

That’s when I knew the idea could become something bigger. That basic start evolved into the dynamic platform we are building called Glizmu℠, a free mobile & web app that takes the pain out of dining or going out for drinks. We’ve all been there: waiting for a table, over-crowded bars, flagging down servers and bartenders, standing in long lines waiting just to place an order.

Glizmu℠ changes that:

  • You pull into the parking lot of a venue.
  • Open the app (Glizmu℠ already knows where you are).
  • The venue’s menu pops up—you order and pay right from your phone.
  • The kitchen is notified when you're being seated and starts your order.

How Glizmu℠ Works

Customers download the free app and configure their personal profile, nutritional profile, venue preferences, etc. Venues use our Windows-based web application pre-installed on specially configured devices. Both connect to a single system, allowing customers access to any venue, at any time, anywhere, using their individual profile, preferences, and payment source without ever using a card.

1) Order on your phone

Customers open Glizmu℠ on their phone and instantly browse the current venue’s menu (Smart Menu). Glizmu℠ travels with you from venue to venue, making it easy to order from any participating venue.

2) Pay faster and safer

Customers place their orders and pay from their seat, on the dance floor, while waiting to be seated, or even while en route to the venue. Their financial data stays private from the venue because with Glizmu℠ there’s no need to swipe or scan a card.

3) Faster service

After your order is accepted by the kitchen or bar, you’ll see a real-time prep status. When it’s ready, you’ll be notified to pick up from the host counter or to expect table delivery. For delivery, the app confirms your table, notifies you when a runner is on the way, and records the drop.

Glizmu℠ is integrated with The Flexa Network, a blockchain-based payment system that makes transactions instant, more secure than tradition payment systems (Paypal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Stripe, etc.) and free from chargebacks. Performance

Every new idea carries risks, and Glizmu℠ is no different. A key challenge is performance — the system has to run smoothly even during high-demand moments, like hundreds of fans ordering at halftime. To prepare, we’re building on platforms already proven at massive scale and stress-testing heavily before launch.

Adoption

Adoption is another risk, since some venues and customers may hesitate to change old habits. That’s why Glizmu℠ is designed to run side by side with existing POS systems, adding speed and convenience without disruption. The opportunity here is big: instead of just lowering costs, Glizmu℠ helps venues increase revenue by fixing industry pain points like slow table turnover and lost orders, turning challenges into income.

Finally, reputation is critical. Early downtime or errors could corrode trust. That’s why we’re committed to open communication and rapid, professional responses whenever challenges arise. FAQ

Does Glizmu℠ add fees and take away the personal touch?

No. Glizmu℠ reduces costs and frees up staff to give more personal attention, not less. We offer a flat 2.5% compared to the 3%–3.5% (plus fees like chargebacks and markups, which we don't have) our "competitors".

By automating orders, payments, and receipts, staff can focus on hosting, greeting, and upselling instead of rushing to do their job and being stressed. Starbucks, McDonald’s, and others have seen upwards of 20% revenue gains with digital self-serve models. Glizmu℠ brings that same power to independent venues, but with flexibility to fit their brand and far more power in the hands of consumers.

Is Glizmu℠ just an idea now?

No. We are beyond the idea stage. We’ve built a semi-working prototype as a web app demonstrating flow and UX. Backers will help turn our prototype into a production app with MVP and final UI/UX Design. See Our Prototype

Will it replace the current POS system in my business?

No. Glizmu℠ can run alongside your current POS as an alternative, independant payment/order channel for Glizmu℠ users. In fact, it is so self-sufficient, that customers don't even need their physical debit/credit card at the venue to purchase through Glizmu℠.

Doesn't other venues do this already?

No. Glizmu℠ is accessed through your phone or any other personal device. It connects to any partner venue automatically upon your entrance. It keeps your card info hidden from venues and carries your personal preferences and nutrition profile anywhere you go. Other digital systems in venues can't do this.

How do instant refunds work?

If a venue refunds a customer's payment directly, Glizmu℠ processes the transaction immediately via our payment partner (Flexa) and those funds are immediately available to the customer.

What about chargebacks?

With Glizmu℠ using Flexa, there are no chargebacks. Transactions are final, which means venues don’t face surprise reversals or extra fees. And if a refund is ever needed, venues can issue it directly on the spot.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We follow privacy-by-design: minimal data collection, encryption at rest/in transit, and role-based access for staff. Our payment system is more secure than most major systems you are already familiar with.

What devices do I need?

For customers, any mobile device including a phone. For venues: We supply pre-configured, secure devices (recommended) or they can use any windows device they prefer. Staff members such as servers and hosts will use mobile devices.
